Follows for families during the times just before world war one and then through the duration of the war. really interesting as it covers politics social reforms and the Russian Bolshevik revolution

A Dangerous Fortune 

A very interesting take on the highs and lows of high level banking. Follows the protagonist from boy to man as his position of the black sheep of the family. Definitely one of my favourite period

Shantaram

Follows an ex drug addict and criminal as he breaks out of prison in Australia and makes it his way to India in the early seventies. This book really takes you on a journey of discovery in a country you thought you knew, really is a great read.

Fifteen Dogs

The two gods Apollos and Hermes make a bet that if dogs had the same level of intelligence as humans they would be as happy as humans. This book follows the dogs as they find there new sense of intelligence.

Pillars of the Earth

One man and his quest to build a cathedral in medieval times follows a tale of happiness and sadness. My favourite book I have ever read would recomenned it to anyone who likes periodical drama.
